Last Hurrah

After a few years of photographing my friends band, Post Historic, they decided to break up and I shot their final show last month. It’s been a good time following the progression of the band and seeing them do what they love. I tried my best to sync some of the photos to one of my favorite songs of theirs, “Memory Banks of Blue,” and it doesn’t quite work the whole time, but you get the idea. Sorry for the inconsistent WB, i was a bit lazy.

Thanks Jesse, Yoo Soo, and Zach.

Under the Very Low Lights

The lighting in the small room at Canopy sucks. At first I decided I was going to play around with my strobe and second curtain sync some photos, but these guys weren’t moving and I didn’t really get anything worthwhile. So, I gave up and decided to go wide for the rest of the night and shoot at ISO 6400. GRAIN’ed!

Aside from photo stuff– Jesse, Yoo Soo, Zach, (and Pat) played a lot of new stuff that sounded great. Every time I see them play their sound is progressively getting more defined and fantastic.

5 Songs on my iPod (I’m gonna watch Jeff Tweedy tonight!)

  1. “Either Way “- Wilco, Sky Blue Sky
  2. “Impossible Germany” – Wilco,  Sky Blue Sky
  3. “She’s a Jar” – Wilco, Summerteeth
  4. “I’m Trying To Break Your Heart” – Wilco, Hotel Yankee Foxtrot
  5. “Pick Up the Change” – Wilco, AM

[UPDATE: Tweedy was amazing! He has a great rapport with his fans and played a lot of songs that the casual Wilco fan (who’s only listened to Sky Blue Sky, A Ghost is Born, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Summerteeth, Being There, and AM) like me hasn’t ever heard. I wish I could’ve brought my SLR, or even had a back-up point and shoot (G10!). Instead, here’s a crappy cameraphone shot.]
