Despite having been rained out the previous week, this year’s (4th annual) Edgar Sanchez Memorial Classic was a very good turnout. Props to Jessi, Othon, and everyone else who worked hard to make it happen.

Went out with some old DI buddies for what was originally a photo-excursion and ended up a $10 dollar Cubs game & a stroll through downtown. Had to take off early but got some okay shots. It’s been a while.

I went to the Chicago Bulls-Milwaukee Bucks game earlier this week with some friends, the first time I’d been to the United Center in almost 14 years (harkening back to the Jordan dynasty era). I think I’d been here once before to see the Barnum and Bailey circus when I was younger too. Anyway, our seats just a notch above standing room (aka nosebleed section), and I was pretty lazy about walking around and getting some shots, but it was fun to watch my favorite Basketball team live again. I kinda wish they were playing someone more exciting to watch and there was more drama / suspense during the game, but a win is a win is a win.

I really need to shoot more these days.
Last weekend I went on a last-minute trip, accompanying my brother to visit our friend in Buffalo, NY and watch the Chicago Bears/Buffalo Bills in Toronto. Here are some photos from my trip.
Rest In Peace, Aaron.
My friend Dave invited me out to a Chicago Fire match yesterday, courtesy of our buddy Scott who works for the team. It was my first Fire game at Toyota Park, and we got there a bit late because of traffic. I couldn’t help but be reminded of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena when I saw the park; it’s a very nice little stadium surrounded by parking, in the middle of nowhere. I brought along my 1D and 50mm. I didn’t try very hard to look for moments but shot what I thought was interesting.

Our seats were great, and the game was fun to watch, and we walked freely around the stadium. The Fire lost 1-0. Oh, and I really, really miss shooting sports.
