July 2013 pt.one – Brand new cameras, BBQs, Bikes, Bands
July was a pretty busy month, mostly because Summertime in Chicago is the best. Here’s part 1 of some of the stuff that happened.
Wait, Wait Don’t Blog Me
I got to see a live taping of “Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me!” with my friends. All-in-all, it was a hilarious and enlightening NPR-ful experience. Definitely would look into getting tickets again.
Chicago at 40mm in B+W (with Johnny)
Johnny was in town! He didn’t have any plans, and happened to have his 5D MARK III+40mm STM (Johnny’s a baller now, serving our country and all). So, naturally, we spent the afternoon on a good old photo walk.
It’s been a while since I went on one of these so I didn’t really get anything special. I did take one shot that I think is a keeper for my street photography folder (thanks Sam P. for the backpack man crit):

Despite having been rained out the previous week, this year’s (4th annual) Edgar Sanchez Memorial Classic was a very good turnout. Props to Jessi, Othon, and everyone else who worked hard to make it happen.
