Flat Lighting

I’ve been noticing more and more lately how flat the lighting is looking in my photos these days.

It hurts that I usually have to work around other people’s schedules, so daylight is usually either overwhelming or non-existant. I’d really like to start trying out more studio stuff for portraits, but I would also really like to hold off on some new gear for now. For the time being, I’ll just try to keep dynamic and interesting lighting/exposure in the back of my mind in my photography. Anyway, here’s some stuff from the last few days at home during Thanksgiving (ie. more baby god-daughter):

Photo Déjà Vu

So over break, Johnny linked me to his POW-MIA photo that was submitted to the University for it’s “Here & Now” gallery via the AFROTC. That’s when I came across this photo here.

As soon as I saw it, I thought to myself, “WOAH. Didn’t I take this photo and submit it to the DI? How the hell did it end up here?” Well, I finally remembered to look it up, and after digging up my photo, I realized that someone up in the stands took the same photo at the same instant in time. Weird.

Here’s my photo from the pentaly box:

And here’s a link to the other photo again.
