So Happy Together

It’s officially my 20th birthday, and I’m no longer a teenager. My birthday has the uncanny ability of bringing all my old friends together. This particular birthday weekend, basking under the warm golden glow of the sun, most of the old beach gang of Summer ’05 reassembled to celebrate the 20th anniversary of my birth.

My birthday in an overly eloquent nutshell:

Back at the house, my drunk brothers baked me a cake last night and sang me happy birthday at the stroke of midnight, March 10, 2007. The frosting looked like pepto bismol and the cake was still moist in some parts. It was a good time.

The next day, it was beautiful outdoors for the first time in almost half a year, and my old high school friends and I first rejoiced in the occasion by first dusting off our old baseball gloves. We gathered soon thereafter at a Panera Bread to wine and dine, discussing important political topics and relationship advice from sex columnists over a feast of soups and sandwiches. We continued to shoot the breeze for a solid hour or so at Meijer, in anticipation a viewing of the epic blockbuster, 300 (review coming soon). Suffice it to say, the motion picure was visually stunning. Recharged with Spartan energy and vigor, we proceeded to go buck wild and party at the Canopy Club of Champaign, IL. Audio Engineer Yoo Soo made my night by dedicating the song “Bebot” by the Black Eyed Peas via the DJ to my joyous acceptance in the form of dance. We ended the night to the tune of Wario Ware and a brief tour of my housing. All in all, it was a great birthday for me. Old friends, good times.

The following are a few additions to my posts that you’ll be seeing regularly.

5 songs on my iPod (songs I’ve been listening to):
1) “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden
2) “More than a Feeling” by Boston
(did you know the lead singer of Boston just died recently? *tear*)
3) “Chicago” by Sufjan Stevens
4) “Bebot” by The Black Eyed Peas
5) “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1” by The Flaming Lips

QOTD (Question of the day):
What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?
